Melissa Miller Gonzalez, Founder and Principal

Melissa has been a property manager for over 8 years. She identified a need in the marketplace for community association management for smaller buildings in San Francisco as the President of her own homeowners’ association. When searching for a property manager for her development, many large national property management companies told her that they would not take on a new building with 50 units or less. At that point she stepped down as President of her own board and started HOA Care LLC to service San Francisco’s growing condominium market.
She is a member of the Executive Council of Homeowners (ECHO) and is in the process of obtaining the Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM) certification, administered by the California Association of Community Managers (CACM).
She applies years of research editing and journalistic experience in understanding the legal and regulatory environment for San Francisco homeowners’ associations. Prior to founding HOA Care LLC, she was a freelance research editor and journalist writing for publications such as Wired magazine, San Francisco magazine, Via, Yoga Journal, Rolling Stone Online, and Bay City News Service. Melissa holds a B.A. in Journalism from the California State University, San Francisco.
